Car

Getting to the Costa Natura naturist holiday resort is easiest by car or bus. Malaga Airport offers a wide range of car hire firms (Helle Hollis www.hellehollis.com, and many others). The A7 and the AP7/ E15 both run along the Costa Del Sol from Malaga to Cadiz via Marbella and Estepona. The A7  is a motorway while the AP7 Autopista del Mediterraneo is a tolled motorway. They travel to the same location but the AP7 is a faster route. There are two tolls between Malaga airport and Estepona, you can however exit the AP7 between the tolls, visit Marbella, and shop at La Canada shopping centre. Well worth a visit.

We recommend the use of GPS if you are considering a touring holiday at the Costa del Sol. Lastly a point worth making, the maximum  speed limit on motorways  in Spain is 120 kph. A significent portion of the old N 340 / A7 has now a max speed limit of 80 kph.  Fines are” on the spot” (cash) and can spoil your holiday. Drive with care.

The Basic Route from Malaga Airport.

Take the A7 / AP7 from Malaga Airport. You should be travelling south towards Cadiz. You will bypass Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Mijas, Fuengirola as you drive south on the A7 /AP7.

You can now decide to take a more coastal route to Marbella on the A7 / N340 (80kph) and avoid the tolls on the AP7/E15 Autopista del Mediterraneo. This route brings you through the towns of  Mijas Costa, Calahonda and Marbella.

At Marbella you can again chose to take either the A7 / N340 (80kph) and pass through Puerto Banus and San Pedro de Alcantara or  the Ap7 / E15 Autopista del Mediterraneo.  The A7 and AP7 rejoin at Estepona, you exit at the western side of Estepona at junction 153. You then take the A7 / N340 route, and take the exit on the third roundabout to enter the Costa Natura naturist resort.

Costa Natura is 85 km (approx 1 hour) away from Malaga Airport via the AP7.

Bus

There are various bus services to Estepona town.  Spanish buses are very pleasant, air conditioned and have a reliable service, see the Portillo link below and click on the Malaga Airport service section. Bus fares are inexpensive on both the urban and express services.

From Malaga (Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport)

The Malaga Airport Express  to Marbella Bus Station costs 4.51 € (2011).  This bus service uses the Autopista del Mediterraneo AP7 and is a very efficient express bus service.

See timetables on Portillo link here. During the summer season the Airport Express service also runs a direct service to Estepona. Please check the links for times.

At Marbella bus station you may wish to visit Marbella for some shopping, there is a very good local bus service throughout Marbella town.

From the Marbella Bus Station you may transfer to a local bus to Estepona via Puerto Banus and  San Pedro de Alcantara. This service uses the N340 and costs 2.77 € (2011). There is an express bus also (less frequent), where you pay 3.70 € (2011).

From Estepona bus station a taxi to the Costa Natura naturist resort costs € 8 (2011) approximately.

Train

There is no direct train to Estepona and the  Costa Natura holiday resort from Malaga Airport. The commuter train service C1 at present runs from Malaga Renfe mainline train station via the airport to  Fuengirola.

See  Renfe local timetable here http://www.renfe.es/cercanias/malaga/index_horarios.html .

As such the train is not a viable means to reach the Costa Natura naturist holiday resort.
